Wisconsin Built has released the first local-artist Christmas music of the year, in the form of the EP One of Many Alternatives to the Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack. Its obvious the guys dig on some Charlie Brown, naming it influence and standard. No qualms there. The transposition of their sound, in the name of Christmas, worked out pretty seamlessly. Mixing together some ‘America’s Band,’ FDR, Charles Brown, low-fi vocals and minimal instrumentals, made a treat that nearly rivals Mother’s peanut butter kiss cookies. You could buy the 4-track EP from their bandcamp, or you could Ebenezer it (opt to purchase for $0, back-stab St Nick). Either way, Scrooge turns out alright in the end, just go get it.
