Though we’re in the midst of presenting a few really big things from The Heart Pills(stay tuned!), the foursome has already hit the internet with its own front of media to promote its August 5 release of To Paul, From Dad 1951.

First, the album’s single, “Bus Ride,” was posted to the band’s Bandcamp page as a free download. The three and a half minute long romping represents very well the grungy pop-rock style that the group has become known for over the past couple of years through playing many, many shows in and around the area. The improvement in sound quality compared to The Heart Pills EP is instantly and obviously noticeable. Guitars crunch, drums are crisp and energetic, the bass booms and the keyboard rings through clearly. Josh Ingersoll’s vocals are all tin-can and full of drawl, just as we expect, and his lyrics pit society’s long-standing issues alongside hopeless romantics.

Then The Heart Pills posted a unique, behind-the-scenes/collage type music video for two songs, “Country Song,” and “Happy New Year Holden Caulfield.”  Not two videos, one video using two songs. The seven minute long clip features footage from the band’s practices and/or recording sessions and clips from famous and not-so-famous movies, all under an appropriately grainy filter. It’s a creative venture we’ve never really seen before, so be sure to check that out below.
