This is the first track released from the upcoming Nightlife EP, which the band wrote while on tour for their debut album Eyelid Movies, released in early 2010. The new record draws inspiration from the atmospheres Phantogram encountered in the various dance clubs and discothèques they rocked along the way. The duo officially took on a third person, a drummer, to help recreate the dance floor aesthetic.
“Don’t Move” has a tactile edge, and is more whimsical than their previous material, which was darker and more subdued. If this song is any indication, Nightlife represents Phantogram escaping from their heads into a playground of blood, muscles, reflex and response (i.e. the human body.) The release date is November 1st.
