Roughly a month ago, Mages embarked on a week long tour that brought them as far as NYC. Something so ambitious certainly requires confidence and credibility, and any lingering doubts I might have had about theirs were quickly laid to rest after seeing them play The Cabin last week. Their sound is incredibly warm and full, and while it may not be genre-locked, it’s strong-willed in its approach and folky execution. Feel good music.
