When I think of Scotland I think of atavism and debilitating inferiority complexes. Maybe I’ve been to one too many movie nights featuring back to back to back Braveheart and Trainspotting but to me the place doesn’t let off a sunny vibe. Imagine my surprise stumbling across this gem of a dance tune from our country’s-former-ruler’s-neighbors to the north. It sounds like it could be the soundtrack to an 80’s prom and/or uplifting movie montage, but Galleries wields this retro sentimentalism with agency and aplomb. Pure helfy-like indeed.
