Jeremy Fisher - Scar That Never Heals

Pictured: This is a picture from a national tour that J.Fish did completely on bike. No lie, he played 30 shows in 6 months. While the idea seemed cool before he set out, he quickly realized how incredibly innefficient it was as well.

This song is absolute radio-pop bliss. Maybe that’s because all it’s parts sound like little snippets from other popular songs(the intro pretty much is Blister in the Sun, and those ‘doo doo doot’s,’?), but I’m not letting that kill it for me. Those cheery hand claps, that sunny tambourine and Jeremy Fisher’s candy shop vocals…I’m sold.

I think the song is about heartbreak. I mean, I know all of the words. I can sing them all spot on in my car, taking the back roads to my house on the last days of the year where I’ll be able to enjoy the windows down, but it’s far too much fun singing them to pay any attention to what they mean. Two things I know for sure…

1) The girl he’s singing about must be cool as H-E-double hockey sticks(that‘s some WHYS Radio lingo for you),

2) She runs guns and I want guns, and so do you.

I’m not so sure about the rest of Jeremy Fisher’s new album, Goodbye Blue Monday. Really, it’s quite a bit leaning towards John Mayer-ish acousti-rock. At first I tried to think of it as an even happier, more poppy and bright Josh Rouse, which wasn’t working, so I decided to just take what I could get and run with it. At any rate, go get yourself a lollipop and some root beer and take a listen.

Good stuff, very Simon & Garfunkel-esque.
